Steven Gouge, MD, is a US Army veteran and physician at San Antonio Kidney Disease Center Physicians Group. He completed his nephrology fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and is board-certified in internal medicine and nephrology. He currently serves patients with a caring, compassionate approach at the San Antonio Kidney Disease Center’s Northwest Clinic.
He’s a member of the American College of Physicians, the International Society of Nephrology, the Texas Medical Association, and the Bexar County Medical Society. He has provided nephrology care to patients in various parts of Texas since 1988.
With a reputation for quality patient care, Dr. Gouge was awarded the US Army Surgeon General “A” Designator for Excellence in the Field of Nephrology. He was also named an Outstanding Teacher at Walter Reed.
He has been published in the American Journal of Nephrology, the American Journal of Kidney Diseases, and The American Journal of the Medical Sciences, among others.
Dr. Gouge is a Texas A&M University graduate. He has four grown children and lives with his wife Gayle in San Antonio.
