Heather Banks, M.D. - San Antonio Kidney

A native of San Antonio, Texas, Heather Banks, MD proudly serves her hometown community as a board-certified nephrologist and internal medicine physician. As a member of the highly skilled team at San Antonio Kidney Disease Center Physicians Group, P.L.L.C., Dr. Banks provides a full spectrum of services at the New Braunfels and Seguin clinics.

Dr. Banks graduated with honors from Rice University in Houston with a bachelor’s degree in anthropology. During this time, she contributed to a variety of scientific research projects, including biochemistry and astronomy, and volunteered at a community clinic in Namibia in southwestern Africa.

Dr. Banks earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center of San Antonio. She stayed there to finish her internship and residency in internal medicine, followed by a fellowship in nephrology. She was named chief nephrology fellow and awarded grants in both internal medicine and nephrology.

In addition to working with patients, Dr. Banks has delivered several lectures at professional nephrology conferences and serves as medical director at DaVita Seguin Dialysis.
