Neena Penagaluru, MD, is board-certified in both nephrology and internal medicine. She specializes in nephrology and internal medicine at San Antonio Kidney Disease Center and sees patients in both the New Braunfels and Seguin clinics.
Dr. Penagaluru hails from India, where she went to medical school at one of the oldest, most prestigious Osmania University. While in Medical school along with contributing to medical camps in rural areas she also volunteered at underprivileged kid camps.
Following that, to take advantage of the latest and greatest advances in the medical science he moved to the USA in 2006. She did her residency at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune City, New Jersey. She excelled there and was honored with the best teacher award in addition to being appointed as the Chief resident in her final year.
She moved to Texas in 2011 to fulfill her interest in nephrology via a fellowship in nephrology at the esteemed University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. While at fellowship she excelled in all facets of Nephrology and also took keen Interest in Peritoneal dialysis. She was an active part of research projects and also has publications In Nephrology Journals. She graduated with honors as the Outstanding Fellow in the year 2013.
While she was still in her nephrology program, she was approached by the SAKDC to become a part of this prestigious Nephrology group of San Antonio. She now proudly lives and Serves in the New Braunfels and Seguin Area with Clinics In both the cities. While at SAKDC she has been Instrumental in establishing and exponentially growing the Peritoneal dialysis clinics.
She is a member of the American Society of Nephrology, the National Kidney Foundation, the American College of Physicians, and the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis.
She is a very witty people friendly person. Loves making acquaintances and always ready for fun pow-wow with family and friends. She keeps herself busy with family, garden, cooking while outside of work.
