San Antonio Kidney offers chronic kidney disease education regarding the kidney disease process, common dietary restrictions, including label reading, discuss common lab indices associated with CKD, healthy life style modification, and much more. These classes are designed to coach and help you understand how to participate in your care. These basic “Caring for Your Kidneys” basic classes can be accessed in and around the San Antonio area or taught in group settings or individually. We are proud of our commitment to slowing the progression of kidney disease and have been providing these classes that are open to the public since 1997.
San Antonio Kidney also provide a comprehensive “Modality Options” class to discuss transplant, peritoneal and hemodialysis, along with palliative care or conservative options, these classes are done privately with you and your family so the class can be individualize to meet your particular needs. This service is provided by our specialized nephrology nurses as part of our responsibility to assure you have all of the information you need to help you transition into which ever modality (transplant, peritoneal or hemodialysis) you and your nephrologist feel is appropriate for you.
