We are proud of our commitment to slowing the progression of kidney disease and have been providing these classes that are open to the public since 1997.
San Antonio Kidney also provide a comprehensive “Modality Options” class to discuss transplant, peritoneal and hemodialysis, along with palliative care or conservative options, these classes are done privately with you and your family so the class can be individualize to meet your particular needs. This service is provided by our specialized nephrology nurses as part of our responsibility to assure you have all of the information you need to help you transition into which ever modality (transplant, peritoneal or hemodialysis) you and your nephrologist feel is appropriate for you.
In addition to the kidney classes, our patients will have access to a renal or kidney specialized dietitian to help with complicated dietary changes that may be required. Our specialized dietitians can help you negotiate what can be a confusing diet if not understood fully.
