Roque Alberto Diaz Wong, MD is a board certified doctor of internal medicine and nephrology. He earned his medical degree at the University of Panama School of Medicine in 2004. Dr. Wong not only ranked third in his medical school class, but he was also bestowed an award for the Best Student Performance in Internal Medicine.
Upon successfully graduating from medical school, Dr. Wong completed two years of internship work in Panama, which included work in internal medicine and coronary care. He continued his education as an internal medicine resident at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, and followed with two fellowships at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami — two years in nephrology and one year in nephrology transplant.
When Dr. Wong isn’t attending to patients, he enjoys cooking, reading and engaging in volunteer work with organizations such as Therapy Animals of San Antonio. Dr. Wong is also fluent in written and spoken Spanish.
