Karina Vasquez, M.D.

Patients diagnosed with chronic kidney disease or kidney cancer can get the specialized care they need by Dr. Karina Vasquez. Dr. Vasquez treats the most complex of nephrology cases. She provides compassionate care for patients at San Antonio Kidney. She enjoys educating her patients about their disease and how to make necessary lifestyle modifications. She truly enjoys taking care of people.

Dr. Vasquez completed her undergraduate studies through the honors program from the University of Texas — Pan American College of Science and Engineering in Edinburg, Texas. She then earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

Dr. Vasquez stayed at the University of Texas for her fellowship training in nephrology. She spent extensive time evaluating cell growth in the laboratory at the University of Texas, as well as teaching organic chemistry procedures.

Not only is Dr. Vasquez board-certified in internal medicine and nephrology through the American Board of Internal Medicine; she’s also fluent in English, Spanish, and French. She welcomes new patients to the clinic.

In her free time, Dr. Vasquez enjoys spending time with family, traveling, exploring new cultures, cooking, gardening and occasionally painting still life.
